Daily Photo #22 - backyard pool and spa

I have refrained from constantly showing photos of Knuckles but today I think it’s appropriate. We did several difficult training sessions outside that were mentally and physically taxing. To reward my good boy, we incorporated his own new pool (large enough for him to lay down). Knuckles is tethered to an outside line made of wire and covered with plastic. It is intended to hold dogs up to 125#. The first time he used it, he would get all tied up around trees and shrubs. On only the second use, he learned to retrace his steps and follow the line back. We were working on recall while he was doing something that he did not want to stop. I blow the whistle as the signal for “come” and he jumped out of the pool to meet me. You can’t see it, but he has a yellow tennis ball in his mouth. We have one more scheduled training session tonight – staying inside my “bubble” and on task while bikes, people and animals go by. We will go around the block where all the action is located.
